Sharnell Watts-Smith holds dual certifications from Case Institute, a national coaching program based in Florida and is one of Connecticut’s leading life coach strategists for women and girls. Her passion is mentoring both adults and youth to provide them strategies and tools to navigate through life's many challenges, while also helping them set and reach successful milestones. In the marketplace as a Senior level executive, Sharnell currently has 30 years in Healthcare and Healthcare Management working for three Fortune 500 companies and one of the largest hospital systems in the world.

Born the daughter of teen parents, Watts-Smith experienced numerous childhood challenges that caused her to battle with low self-esteem, depression, promiscuity, and other self-destructive behaviors. By the age of 13, Sharnell was a rebellious teenager who had given up on any hopes for a positive future. Believing she had nothing to lose, Sharnell found herself in a loveless marriage laced with verbal abuse and emotional negligence, that thankfully ultimately ended. As a single mom with a newborn and no real direction Sharnell began to look inward. Through the support of her loving family and own self-examination, she realized that to understand her life’s purpose, she needed to develop a relationship with the One who created her.

Sharnell’s quest led her on a path of spiritual awakening and renewal that became a journey that changed her life forever. She submitted herself to God and rendered a “Yes” that she still stands solid on. In 2007, Sharnell founded DreamGrlz Inc™ a non-profit leadership development program serving girls and women ages 9-25 in Hartford, CT and surrounding areas. DreamGrlz Inc™ works to provide academic achievement, college, and career training, as well as tools to formulate, articulate, and to achieve goals and dreams. Sharnell’s heart and passion is to see women of ages become healed, whole, and empowered. She is passionate about equipping and encouraging them to break generational curses and traumas that once defined them and to be present and future-driven contributors to their families, communities, and society. With the heart of a servant and the mind of a strategist, Sharnell rewires the mindsets of her clients so they can see the best version of themselves and unlock their full potential.

Through her coaching programs, Sharnell works to create a balanced lifestyle application while enlightening life perception. She is an accountability advocate for her client’s happiness and promotes a healthy purpose driven journey. Sharnell is the blessed wife of Dwayne Smith, and the proud mother of two girls Folasade and Dymond. Sharnell believes in having a strong family foundation and prides herself on her first ministry which is at home.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Ivory A

I met Sharnell when I was suffering from depression and suicidal. I was suffering from low self-esteem and just didn't love myself. Sharnell stayed by my side, encouraged and prayed for me and taught me to pray for myself. She never judged me. I trust her with my life. She is an amazing person who will tell you the truth and help you deal with it. She is one of the reasons I am who I am today. I am confident! I am a survivor! I am an author! I am free!

I met Sharnell in the corporate sector. She was my mentor in the Minority Professional club. Her wealth of knowledge and networking helped me to excel in my entry level position which maximized my marketability for my current role as a Sr. level executive. Even though we are at different companies now I can always reach out to Sharnell for professional insight and a fresh perspective.
